With over 20 years of dedicated social work experience, I specialize in child protection, supporting looked-after children, and guiding families through complex challenges. My work spans frontline practice, leadership roles, and serving as an expert witness—combining deep knowledge of legislation and court procedures with a commitment to developing compassionate, effective solutions.
I’m particularly passionate about:
✓ Creating robust safeguarding systems that put children’s wellbeing first
✓ Supporting families affected by substance misuse, mental health needs, or displacement
✓ Bridging policy and practice to address socio-economic barriers
✓ Ensuring legal processes uphold dignity while protecting the vulnerable
Every family’s story matters. My role is to help rewrite the difficult chapters with expertise, integrity, and hope.
I am a highly experienced social worker with over 18 years of dedicated service in the field, primarily specialising in children’s services, safeguarding, and frontline practice. I qualified as a social worker in Australia, and have spent the past nine years working in London, where I have built a strong reputation in leadership, and unwavering commitment to child-centred practice.
I am an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO), and ensure the voices and rights of children and young people remain at the forefront of care planning and decision-making. I have worked as a Team Manager in children’s services, where I was instrumental in driving quality practice and supporting social workers in complex and high-pressured environments.
I have been a foster carer for 4.5 years, which has further enriched my professional insight with personal, lived experience of the care system. As a foster carer I have seen first-hand the profound impact that contact with birth parents can have on a child or young person. This experience has deepened my commitment to ensuring that all family time and contact arrangements are truly child-centred, carefully planned, and always aligned with the best interests of the child.
I have a good knowledge of the Arabic language and I am particularly skilled at working with diverse families and communities. I am deeply passionate about advocating for children and young people—especially those who are unable to speak up for themselves.
With a practice grounded in empathy, cultural competence, and a relentless focus on safeguarding, I strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families.
